Protect your lawn equipment....... Summer is Here! Which means that yard work has to be done. Unfortunately it also means that thieves will be on the prowl for lawn and garden equipment that is left outside. Most items that are stolen are left in plain view from the street. Either in a garage where the garage door was open, in a carport or sitting by the side of the house. Thieves will be cruising neighborhoods looking for items to steal. If your equipment is left outside or in plain view you could become their next victim. Be suspicious of vehicles that are cruising your neighborhood without purpose. If you observe suspicious persons or vehicles call the police department. On several of the theft reports from last year neighbors reported seeing someone load up equipment from an adjacent house but thought they were suppose to be there. If you see someone at your neighbor's house loading up equipment and you haven't seen them before, call the police. NOTE: Many of these crimes occurred in daylight hours. Make sure that you have the brand names, model numbers and serial numbers recorded on your equipment.
