What is the explorer program about?
The explorer program is based on principles of discipline, respect and accountability. The explorers must maintain a good academic average, stay out of trouble and hold themselves to a higher standard. The explorer program in addition to teaching and fostering these qualities helps the youths to explore opportunities in Law Enforcement.
How old do you have to be to participate?
Explorers have to be between 15 and 20. They may participate if they are 14 and have graduated from the eighth grade.
Is there an adult with them at all times?
Yes. The children are well protected and guided at all times.
Who Sponsors the Explorer Program?
The explorer program is sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America, Learning for Life. The Chickasaw council located in Memphis is the direct contact for the explorer programs in North Mississippi.
